Deşi maşina de propagandă evreiască a negat întotdeauna, cu vehemenţă, existenţa reală a „omorurilor rituale“ a copiilor creştini, cercetători evrei de astăzi recunosc că „există o urmă de adevăr“ în acest „mit“.
Astfel, profesorul evreu Ariel Toaff, care predă istoria medievală şi renascentista la Universitatea Bar Ilan din Israel, şi care este fiul fostului rabin-şef al Romei, Elio Toaff, a făcut astfel de afirmaţii în cartea sa intitulată Pasque di sangue, apărută în 2007.

În carte, Ariel Toaff, aduce dovezi istorice pentru cazurile vehiculate în secolul al XV-lea, conform cărora unele comunităţi evreieşti, atât din Austria cât şi din Italia, au sacrificat copii creştini pentru a le folosi sângele în prepararea acelei pâini speciale numită matzot, mâncată la Paştele evreiesc.
Cartea lui Toaff a provocat un scandal în februarie 2007, când un alt renumit istoirc evreu, Sergio Luzzatto, profesor la Universitatea din Torino, a confirmat spusele lui Ariel Toaff, publicându-şi opiniile într-un articol publicat în cotidianul Corriere della Sera.
Despre Ariel Toaff am scris si eu, dar din pacate a fost nevoit sa retraga cartea de la vinzare si sa o reediteze fara aceasta recunoastere. Aceasta prima editie o au foarte putini.
78. În februarie 2007 evreul Ariel Toaff, profesor de istorie medievală la Universitatea Bar Ilan, a publicat în Italia cartea „Paștele evreiesc al sîngelui. Evreii europeni și crimele rituale”. Subiectul cărții îl constituie un proces medieval de notorietate privind uciderea rituală a unor copii de către un grup de evrei. Din păcate, curajul nu l-a ținut prea mult: din motive ușor de bănuit, după doar cîteva zile, Toaff a cerut editorului să oprească distribuția cărții și apoi a retras-o de la vînzare. În februarie 2008 a publicat o a doua ediție în care, renegînd rezultatul propriilor cercetări, declară că acuzațiile de crime rituale ca o practică rituală evreiască curentă sînt în întregime o invenție a creștinilor, fără a exclude însă posibilitatea unor astfel de crime săvîrșite de evrei radicali, fie în scop ritualic, fie ca răspuns împotriva „persecuțiilor” creștine.
Dar despre cirmele rituale ale evreilor s-a scris mult:
În cap. 1 al cărții sale „Înfruntarea jidovilor”, ieromonahul Neofit, fost rabin creștinat și călugărit (v. nota de subsol 60), comentează, explică și dezvoltă cazurile în care tradițiile religioase iudaice necesită folosirea de „sînge de creștin muncit”.
Despre crimele rituale evreiești împotriva creștinilor a scris și Nicolae Paulescu: după ce a arătat că între anii 1071-1670 istoria a consemnat cca. 50 de astfel de omoruri (exemplificînd cu două dintre acestea, unul în Italia și altul în Franța), comentează cazuri mult mai recente (1840 în Damasc, 1881 în Galiția austriacă, 1883 în Roma iar, la momentul în care își scria capodopera, procesul unui astfel de omor se desfășura la Kiev). Paulescu ne mai dă un exemplu al formidabilei influențe a evreimii: în cazul crimei din Beirut unde au fost uciși călugărul capucin Thomas și servitorul acestuia, s-au deplasat înșiși marii apărători ai iudeilor, evreul francez Adolphe Cremieux (v. nota de subsol 3 din acest capitol) și evreul italian, naturalizat și înnobilat în Anglia, sir Moses Haim Montefiori, prim baronet (1784-1885), care au reușit să obțină punerea în libertate a celor 10 evrei condamnați la moarte. Și în acest caz, aurul evreiesc a înfrînt justiția (v. Nicolae Paulescu, „Spitalul, Coranul, Talmudul, Cahalul, Franc-Masoneria”, pag. 51-62).
În următoarea sa carte („Cele patru patimi și remediile lor”), Nicolae Paulescu completează acest panoptic criminal cu mai multe omoruri rituale săvîrșite de evrei pe pămînt românesc, primul dintre ele, care a avut loc în anul 1727, fiind menționat anterior într-o cronică istorică scrisă de Mihail Kogălniceanu.
